The SEC’s new whistleblower program provides an outlet for whistleblowers who want to report on corporations that bribe foreign officials in order to conduct business. Where the SEC secures a recovery from the wrongdoer, the whistleblower will be entitled to a bounty.
Prosecutions under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) have been on the rise and it is expected that the SEC whistleblower program will only lead to more prosecutions.
